Professional Schema Markup Services

Schema markup services are professional services that implement structured data on your website so search engines and AI systems can understand your business information more clearly. We use JSON-LD — the format Google recommends — to mark up your organization, services, locations, content, and navigation in a way that is machine-readable, accurate, and consistent with what visitors actually see on your pages.

What Schema Markup Does

Schema markup is structured data code that tells search engines and AI systems what your page is about in an explicit, machine-readable format. Instead of relying on algorithms to interpret your content, schema directly states: "This is a service page for HVAC repair in Tampa, Florida, offered by this business." That clarity can support eligibility for applicable search features like rich results, breadcrumbs, and FAQ snippets — and it helps AI systems like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity parse your business information with confidence.

Schema does not guarantee rankings or rich results. What it does is remove ambiguity. When search systems can clearly understand what you do, where you do it, and what expertise you offer, they are more likely to reference your business accurately — in traditional results, local results, and AI-generated answers.

Schema Markup We Implement

We do not blindly add every schema type to every page. We implement only valid schema that matches your actual visible content:

Organization

Establishes your business as a recognized entity with name, logo, description, contact information, and social profile links. This is the foundation of your entity identity across search and AI systems.

LocalBusiness / ProfessionalService

Tells search engines your business has a physical location or service area, including address, hours, phone number, and geographic coverage. Essential for local SEO and Map Pack visibility.

Service

Describes each service you offer — what it is, who provides it, and what area it covers. Each service page gets its own Service schema so search systems understand your specific offerings.

BreadcrumbList

Shows search engines the navigation path to each page, helping them understand your site structure and displaying breadcrumbs in search results. Improves both UX and crawlability.

Article / BlogPosting

Identifies your blog content as articles with publication dates, authors, and headlines. Helps search systems index and surface your content appropriately in news and article features.

Person

Used only when a real person is genuinely represented on the page — such as an author bio or team member profile. We do not add Person schema to generic content or invented personas.

FAQPage

Added only when visible FAQ content exists on the page and it makes semantic sense. Each question and answer pair is marked up so search and AI systems can parse and cite them directly.

Product / Offer

Used only when your website genuinely has product or offer content — such as pricing plans with specific prices. We do not add Product or Offer schema to pages that do not contain real offers.

Service Schema Markup

Service schema is one of the most valuable schema types for service businesses. It tells search engines and AI systems exactly what service you offer, who provides it, and what geographic area it covers. Each of your service pages should have its own Service schema that matches the visible content on that page.

A well-structured Service schema includes:

The service name and type (e.g., "HVAC Repair" or "Roof Replacement")
The provider (your business, linked to your Organization schema)
The geographic area served (country, state, or metro area)
A description of the service
A URL to the service page
Offers or pricing where genuine pricing exists on the page

Schema for Local Service Businesses

Local service businesses need schema that clearly communicates location and service area. This means LocalBusiness or a more specific subtype (like ProfessionalService or the appropriate business subtype) with your NAP — name, address, phone — hours of operation, and geographic service area. We also implement AreaServed properties so search systems understand which cities or regions you cover, even if you do not have a physical office in each one.

This works hand-in-hand with our Local SEO services and Google Business Profile optimization to create a consistent local presence across your website, Google, and directories.

Custom JSON-LD Implementation

We write custom JSON-LD for each page — not generic templates. Every schema block is tailored to the specific content on that page, validated against Google\'s structured data guidelines, and tested for both errors and warnings. We do not use schema generators or plugins that produce bloated, incorrect markup. Each schema block is hand-coded to match your visible content exactly.

Schema Audit & Validation

We audit your existing schema markup for errors, warnings, missing properties, and schema that does not match your visible page content. We then validate every schema block using Google\'s Rich Results Test, the Schema Markup Validator, and Search Console\'s structured data reports. Validation is not optional — invalid schema is worse than no schema because it signals to search engines that your structured data is unreliable.

Schema Cleanup and Error Repair

Many websites accumulate broken schema over time — from theme updates, plugin conflicts, or content changes that made existing markup inaccurate. We identify and repair common schema problems including: invalid property combinations, schema referencing deleted pages, duplicate markup from multiple sources, missing required fields, and schema that does not match visible content. We clean it up so search systems can trust your structured data.

Schema for Existing Websites

You do not need a new website to benefit from schema markup. We can add JSON-LD to most existing websites — including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and custom-built sites — without changing your design or layout. For WordPress sites, we can either implement schema directly in your theme or configure a schema plugin properly, depending on what makes the most sense for your setup.

Schema for New Lead Machine Websites

Every Lead Machine Website we build includes comprehensive schema markup from day one — Organization, LocalBusiness, Service schema for each service page, BreadcrumbList, and FAQPage where applicable. This is not an add-on; it is built into the architecture. Your site launches with structured data that is already validated and ready for search systems and AI crawlers to parse.

Frequently Asked Questions

A schema markup service is a professional service that implements structured data (JSON-LD) on your website so search engines and AI systems can better understand your business, services, and content. It typically includes an audit of existing markup, implementation of appropriate schema types, validation, and ongoing maintenance.

Service schema is a structured data type that tells search engines what service you offer, who provides it, and what geographic area you serve. It helps search systems understand the specific services your business provides rather than just knowing you exist as a business.

Schema markup helps search engines understand your content more clearly, which can support eligibility for certain search features like rich results and enhanced snippets. However, schema is not a direct ranking factor — it does not guarantee higher rankings. It improves how clearly search systems can parse your information, which can indirectly benefit visibility.

Most service businesses benefit from Organization or LocalBusiness schema, Service schema for each service page, BreadcrumbList for navigation clarity, and FAQPage schema where visible FAQ content exists. Depending on your business, Article or BlogPosting schema may also be appropriate. We do not add schema types that do not match your actual content.

LocalBusiness schema is a structured data type that tells search engines your business has a physical location or service area. It includes your business name, address, phone number, hours, and geographic service area. It is essential for local SEO and helps AI systems understand where you operate.

Organization schema tells search engines and AI systems about your business as an entity — your name, logo, description, contact information, areas of expertise, and links to your social profiles. It helps establish a consistent business identity across the web.

Yes. We can add JSON-LD schema markup to most existing websites without a full rebuild. The process involves auditing your current markup, identifying what is missing or incorrect, implementing the appropriate schema types, and validating everything with Google's testing tools.

Yes. We regularly audit and repair schema markup that contains errors, missing fields, or incorrect nesting. Common issues include invalid property combinations, schema that does not match visible page content, and duplicate or conflicting markup from multiple plugins.

Yes. We use JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) exclusively. It is Google's recommended format for structured data, it is easy to maintain, and it does not interfere with your page rendering the way microdata or RDFa can.

We validate all schema markup using Google's Rich Results Test, the Schema Markup Validator, and Search Console's structured data reports. We also test for warnings, not just errors, because warnings can indicate schema that is technically valid but not as informative as it should be.

Yes. Schema markup provides structured, machine-readable information about your business, services, and content. AI systems like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity use this structured data to better understand what you do, where you operate, and what expertise you offer.
